A productive, gorgeous Glazed Purple Stripe, from the Republic of Georgia. Per specialtyproduce.com here , it was first called Mchadijvari #1, named for the village it was collected from. Like many names in the Georgian language, it has either been shortened or totally rebranded. The Republic of Georgia is on the western edge of the presumed origin of domesticated garlic, and is similar latitude to the upper northern reaches of the States, making this a quickly-adapting garlic, well-suited to higher altitudes and cold.
