More variability in plant size suggest variability in clove size. Last year I planted everything of what I had so it's partially a consequence of that, but what it means for the long-term future is that it could be a higher clove count cultivar, which all things being held equal could mean that it could be a productive variety in high calcium soils.
Named for my great-uncle Willard, who farmed the ground this garlic was first raised on. Returning from World War Two, Willard found solace in working the family farm after a long sojourn in North Africa and Italy.
